The best in botting, you mean? .. . when are you botters going to realize using a bot makes you good at using a bot, it does not makes you good at the game ...
Things don't come easy, not in real life, not in the game. if you cannot even play by the rules in a game that you claim to love. how the hell are you going to make it in real life where the competition is greater? DOWNLOAD A BOT?
Using bots reminds me of people (in real life) who maxed out their credit card to buy stuffs they cannot afford otherwise, just so they could show off. In the end THEY ARE THE ONE GETTING BURNED. no one else.

As he said, too much too late imo. Botting kills pvp so everyone needs a bot to compete with these ridiculous dual tease 20 interrupt teams. They dowload it and try it out. Rupt every skill. - About the PvE botting... LOL SINCE WHEN DO THEY CARE ABOUT PVE. They just made an update to buff mesmers in pve and they ended up making them 300% more common in HA. They let shadow form get out of hand for several years.

Over 3700 people started botting, fully aware of the consequences of their actions. The game was dead to them so they became careless.
Only thing I'm mad about is guildies and friends quitting the game because they have no reason to buy a brand new account for a dead game. We will most likely play together in GW2.
GG Anet btw, you should have seen my reaction when dhuum came down. I thought I was the coolest person in GW. Sadly, I wasn't ready to take a screenie.

the funny thing is, they haven't just killed the game for botters, the've made an already dead game even more dead for everyone who doesnt bot, good job anet.
obviously profit based as that is what anet is about; 3700 people get banned for botting causing lots of them to buy new accounds = anet makes more money out of a dead game.

BTW, 3700 ACCOUNTS, not players

See, the thing is, when you can't play in a PvP environment that is over run with bots, you stop playing until the problem is fixed. which is what I did, And I am going to jump into RA again when i get my desktop back. RA here I come again! I better not see anymore syncher or get interrupted 10 times in a row. I like taking screenshots
And you think players won't play PvP without bots? the players who could play without bots, and can't play because other players are using bots will most probably return.
War In Kryta is pve? no? they don't care? what for they give us all the new contents/stories? FREE

Yes apparently the masses of idiots do not realize its probably fewer than even 800 players because most of those who botted had multiple accounts on average I saw more than 6 per person. So even 800 is probably far more than the actual number of actual people that got banned.

Stop playing HA, Gvg, RA, and JQ for several months because bots are common? What a wonderful idea.

They put in costumes to make some money since nobody buys a 5 year old game anymore (until the bans LOL).
Tell me how an assassin that can run through a high level area and destroy 10, 20, 30 monsters at one time is good for a virtual economy.

Yeap, I stop for more then a Year.
Did you not read the Question and Answer's section on this forum? I seem to see there are still new players asking for advise because they want to buy Guild Wars, or what campaign they should start from. That, to me is people buying new accounts.
You probably don't know where I stand regarding "virtual economy"
1) They don't exist.
2) I don't care. Because it does not affect me and my game experience.

Okay. There is no such thing as an economy in Guild Wars. Therefore its fine for players to be invincible in pve. Bots can't hurt something that doesn't exist either

First, congrats on slipping twat through.
The idea I was trying to illustrate was that if any other product that people paid for was taken away by the company who made it for any reason other than non-payment, the reaction would be quite different. Even if you were dubbing bootleg copies off of a DVD the company would have no legal right to take the copy you paid for- although that copy would likely be gaining dust sitting in an evidence room while the criminal and then civil trials proceeded.

They are not taking away the "product" you paid for. A-Net is not visiting homes, and removing GW boxes, manuals, CD's, DVD's etc.
A-Net provides a service (access to their game). If you abuse the service, they reserve the right to cease providing that service to you. This is no different to other services in all walks of life.

You also don't know where I stand regarding sin, called me weird. I don't care, but this is what I think.
1) I don't care, because a player is still controlling said character with whatever skills ...
2) ArenaNet addressed the issue, if i remember correctly, i wander why.
3) In my humble opinion, Perma Sins, they are not invincible, . Bots, however are, not to mention bots are non-stop and the players can go afk
and please excuse me, I am going out now, PRINCE OF PERSIA!!!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Red Resigns is, officially, cheating, just like any other form of match manipulation. (See the Rules of Conduct for info.) I have been discussing the matter of how it will be addressed with the Live Team, but do not yet have an answer. -- Gaile 01:43, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

they found the answer, they removed the entire format. then made it clear that from THAT moment on, it would not be tolerated, decision was made, stop trying to incite riot because you got burned

1. people who rr'd are still playing the game and are still keeping the wealth they earned from rr.
2. people who rr'd generally didnt give a shit bout hb.
3. i cared about hb, and i refused to take part in rr. yet i still have to see it removed (along with ta which was a complete dick ass move).
4. i have never botted, nor have i ever been banned.
anything else? i feel that people who weren't in the 3900 are so quick to judge.
personally, i would just like to see some justification or at least some clarification of anet's actions. right now to me, it seems very selective/random.

My neighbor and I each bought the new Delorean, a very technologically advanced vehicle. When I went to start my car, some text flashed on the center console and an icon appeared on the touchscreen that said you must press here to start the car. I pushed the icon so that I could drive my new car.
I went out on the highway to see what my new car was capable of. I opened the engine up and was flying down the road.
Apparently, I must have zipped past my neighbor, because he called the Delorean company to tell them about my driving and they came and took my car away. Apparently the icon that I had to press in order to start my car gave Delorean the right to come and take my car from me if I broke any traffic laws or used the vehicle in any manner, which they generally did not like.
On a related note, I have a co-worker who put a "Gas, Grass or Ass" bumper sticker on his Delorean. They came and took his car away for two weeks. According to Delorean, they have the right to do this, because he pushed the button in order to start the car.
|
You have a Delorean.
You program it to run over people.
YOU GO TO JAIL.

then this should be moved to the other forums where this topic was already discussed at length. whether you liked HB or not, this hardly belongs on here. as far as the random/selective thing, botters got hit. i at least see that RR they were actually at their keyboards(don't know if it was botted as well, but if it was i'm sure they got banned). so as far as the random thing, no, anet stated they watched these accounts and have irrefutable proof, proof that they can back up. doesn't sound so selective to me

botting was only half of the equation. they also said they were hitting those that "engaged in PvP match manipulation", which is exactly what rr is. also, proof that they can back up, but refuse to do so--what's the point of that?
